About the Artist
Clara Emma moved to Minnesota in 1997 with her husband after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carroll College in Helena, MT. In 2002, she attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with her BFA in Fine Arts in 2004.
She began playing in clay obsessively at the beginning of 2000, and has been at it ever since. She took a sabbatical to give birth to their son who is now three.
Clara and her family reside in Minneapolis where she keeps her studio in her basement. She currently teaches clay workshops at the Northern Clay Center and a pottery class for kids at Powderhorn Park.
